Follow the ancient Flaminia road until Bastardo (Giano), then the country olive trees paths, on the green slopes of the Martani mountains until Frigolandia.
From Frigolandia you can easily reach some of the most beautiful and interesting places of the Umbria region. First of all, the wildlife park of Monti Martani is a perfect site for trekking lovers. Another stunning place to visit walking, is the medieval village of Giano, with Santa Maria delle Grazie’s church and the San Felice ‘s abbey from the xii century. In the beautiful village of Castel Ritaldi you get the chance to visit Lucrezia Borgia’s and others castles, oil-mills and quaint wine cellars. Among the typical products of the area olive oil and wines are particularly special, Sagrantino wine made in Montefalco village is one of the finest. Spoleto, the small town labelled by Herman Hesse as “the most beautiful discovery, which I made in Italy”, is rich of monuments and amazing landscapes. It is not far from the picturesque Trevi and just 26km far from Frigolandia. Toward north, a very interesting site is the medieval town of Bevagna: just 14km from Frigolandia it is a small fortified city situated on the Flaminia roman road, preserved in such a perfect way that it looks like unreal (but it is entirely authentic). Going 10km further on, Foligno, another medieval city, is famous for the “Akkademia Cafchiana of Foligno with its small carpentry”, founded by Luciano Biscarini. His head office and workshop is in Via Quadri, 300 m from the Piazza della Repubblica, the cathedral, the Podestà’s palace and the Priore’s palace. Moreover, Assisi and todi are very beautiful and well-know cities to explore. In summer time you can also enjoy both, the swimming pool of the Camping "La Pineta", which is next door, accessible through the romantic lovers path; and a riding school for a nice horse ride into the woods.
